the Haryana government decisively declared a holiday for students in classes 1 through 5 due to the extreme cold and fog that has been persisting. The state’s public and private schools are covered by this declaration, and the holiday will last until January 27. The goal of the initiative is to protect young students’ health and safety while they endure Haryana’s harsh weather.
The State education minister, Kanwar Pal Gurjar, explained that the decision was made in consideration of the unusually cold weather.
Moreover, the Chandigarh administration recently announced a further extension of holidays for schools in the region, specifically for students up to Class 5. While schools catering to higher classes have the option to resume classes, they are advised to take the necessary precautions to prevent students from being adversely affected by the cold weather.
Additionally, the directive emphasised that schools should commence operations no earlier than 9:30 am and conclude activities before 4 pm.
