The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) has resolved to maintain its re-evaluation process for SSLC answer scripts while implementing stringent guidelines to uphold the integrity of this procedure.
According to a notification released on Saturday, candidates may apply for re-evaluation; however, they are now prohibited from sharing photocopies of the re-evaluated answer sheets with the media.
To promote transparency, MBoSE has established a five-working-day period from the announcement of results during which students can request photocopies of their answer scripts. Applications submitted after this timeframe will not be considered under any circumstances.
The Board requires that students seeking copies of their answer scripts sign an undertaking to ensure complete confidentiality. The notification emphasized that candidates must not disclose the photocopy to the media or engage in any actions that could harm the Board’s reputation. Any violation of this undertaking will lead to the cancellation of the candidate’s examination, nullifying their results.
The notification also specified the applicable fees: Rs 700 per subject for photocopies and Rs 1,500 per subject for re-evaluation of answer scripts.
Furthermore, MBoSE clarified that any adjustments in marks resulting from re-evaluation will not affect the official merit list. “Regardless of any changes in marks that may impact the top twenty candidates in the merit list and the highest marks reported in the final results, the top twenty candidates and the highest marks declared by the Board will remain as announced at the time of result declaration,” the notification stated.
