The Punjab government has announced the results for the PSEB 5th examination for 2025. A total of 300,575 students participated in the Class 5 assessment, with 299,204 candidates successfully passing, resulting in an impressive overall pass rate of 99.54%. Additionally, 1,710 candidates were not promoted.
According to the press release, 158,018 candidates took the exam, and 157,206 of them were promoted, yielding a boys’ pass percentage of 99.48%. In the same examination, 142,481 girls participated, with 141,844 achieving passing marks, leading to a girls’ pass percentage of 99.55%.
Among the candidates, 2,927 students with special needs (CWSN) sat for the exam, and 2,896 of them passed, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 98.94% for this group.
From the total participants, 1,755 boys took the exam, with 1,741 being promoted, which gives a boys’ pass percentage of 99.20%. In contrast, 1,169 girls appeared for the examination, and 1,153 passed, leading to a girls’ pass percentage of 98.63%.
This year, no list of toppers has been released, as numerous students achieved a perfect score of 500 out of 500 in the Class 5 results.
In related news, the Punjab Board announced the Class 8 results on April 4. Out of 290,471 candidates who took the exam, 282,627 passed. The boys’ pass percentage stood at 96.49%, while the girls’ pass percentage was 98.19%.
Puneet Verma emerged as the top scorer, followed by Navjot Kaur in second place and another Navjot Kaur in third. According to the Punjab School Education Board’s regulations, if candidates achieve the same marks, the younger student is awarded a higher rank.
