The Coronavirus Pandemic has affected students and educational institutions severely. Schools are going online but students are in need of real classroom like experience for better learning.
Keeping in view the difficulty students and teachers are facing, the School Education and Literacy (SEL) Department of Government of Jharkhand is planning to launch educational apps for learning.
Come December 3, 2020 and students of Jharkhand will get two apps, namely Learnytic for the students of class 9 to class 12 and Digischool for students of class 1 to class 8.
Schools are closed across Jharkhand State due to Covid-19 pandemic. In, between Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) took steps to re-open schools for Class 9-12 students but plans did not worked. Hence department took the steps of building learning apps for students.
“The app for class 9 to class 12 contains e-book, regular syllabus, revised syllabus, digital content, video and animation contents, model questions papers and their answers. It’s a complete package. We are trying to give a classroom education kind of experience to students through the application,” said JEPC director Shailesh Chourasia.
“Videos and animations have also been used to make students understand the topics better,” he said.
“Hordes of question sets are available there. If students fail to solve any question, the app will guide them how to solve it and which topic they should go through for this,” Chourasia said.
In the similar manner the Digischool app provide better learning experience for students of Class 1 to 8. The teachers and parents will be provided support about use of the app so they can help students in learning.
The apps are expected to help more than 40 lakh students enrolled across 35000 government schools. “The students, who would not be able to use the facility for now, would be guided by the school teachers. The teachers have been asked to help students through phone calls or other possible methods,” said JEPC director Shailesh Chourasia.
The students will need to register for app uses. In this regard District Education Officers (DEOs) has asked all schools’ principals and teachers to ensure registrations of students from class 9 to class 12 by December 3.
