Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have officially announced the dates for the second Computer Based Test (CBT 2) pertaining to the Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) recruitment examination for the year 2024. Additionally, the CBT 2 for various positions, including Junior Engineer (JE), DMS, CMA, and others, has been rescheduled.
According to the official notification, the RRB ALP CBT 2 is scheduled to take place on March 19 and 20.
Furthermore, the revised dates for the CBT 2 examinations for JE and other positions will be communicated in due course.
Candidates will be able to access the link for downloading their exam city, date, and travel authority (for SC and ST candidates) on the RRB websites ten days prior to the examination date.
E-call letters or admit cards will be made available four days before the specified exam date, as indicated in the exam city and date notification link.
The RRBs have stated that biometric authentication using Aadhaar cards will be conducted at the examination centers before candidates are allowed entry into the exam hall. Consequently, all candidates must present their original Aadhaar card or a printout of the e-verified Aadhaar.
Candidates are encouraged to complete their Aadhaar verification, if not already done, by logging in with their credentials at rrbapply.gov.in to ensure a smooth entry into the examination center.
The official notification advises candidates to consult only the official RRB websites for the latest updates regarding the recruitment process. Candidates should be cautious of unverified sources and avoid being misled by individuals making false promises of job placements for illegal considerations. Selections by the RRB are based solely on the Computer Based Test and the merit of the candidates.
The ALP recruitment examination aims to fill 18,799 vacancies for Assistant Loco Pilots. Initially, RRBs advertised 5,696 vacancies, but this number was later increased to 18,799 due to the additional demand received from Zonal Railways.
The JE recruitment examination is intended to fill a total of 7,951 positions, which include 17 vacancies designated for the roles of Chemical Supervisor / Research and Metallurgical Supervisor / Research, while the remaining 7,934 positions are allocated for Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent, and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant roles.
