The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has issued the official notification for the Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination 2025. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can submit their applications for the APSC CCE Prelims 2025 starting March 28 at apsc.nic.in.
The application window will close on April 29 at 5 PM, and the final date for fee payment is May 1 at 5 PM.
For candidates in the general category, including ex-servicemen, the application fee is ₹297.20, which encompasses taxes and processing fees.
Candidates belonging to SC, ST, BPL categories, PwBD (including ex-servicemen from these categories), and women candidates are required to pay an application fee of ₹197.20.
Only Indian citizens aged between 21 and 38 years as of January 1, 2024, are eligible to apply for the APSC CCE 2025, with age relaxation provisions available for candidates from reserved categories.
Additionally, applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree and be proficient in Assamese or any other official language or associated official/tribunal languages of the state. They must also be registered with a district employment office and be original residents of Assam.
The APSC CCE 2025 will consist of two phases: the preliminary examination (objective type) followed by the main examination (written test and interview/personality assessment).
The preliminary examination will include two papers: General Studies Paper 1 and General Studies Paper 2, each carrying 200 marks.
Each question in the preliminary exam will have four options, and a penalty of ¼ mark will be imposed for incorrect answers. Selecting more than one option will also be considered a wrong answer.
The preliminary examination will take place at the following locations:
Amingaon, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Biswanath Chariali, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Dibrugarh, Diphu, Goalpara, Golaghat, Guwahati, Haflong, Hailakandi, Hamren, Hatsingimari, Hojai, Jorhat, Kajalgaon, Kokrajhar, Majuli, Mangaldoi, Morigaon, Mushalpur, Nagaon, Nalbari, North Lakhimpur, Pathsala, Silchar, Shivsagar, Sonari, Sribhumi, Tamulpur, Tezpur, Tinsukia, and Odalguri.
The main examination will be conducted exclusively at the Guwahati center. However, the examination centers and dates may be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances, as stated by APSC.
Furthermore, the specific dates for the APSC CCE preliminary and main examinations will be announced in due course.
