The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has launched a new online portal for the registration and submission of application forms electronically.
The official announcement from the commission indicates, “The UPSC Online Application Portal consists of four sections, displayed in four distinct cards on the homepage. Three of these sections, namely Account Creation, Universal Registration, and Common Application Form, include information that is applicable to all examinations and can be completed by candidates at any time. The fourth section, titled Examination, encompasses examination notices, Examination Applications, and application status. Candidates are required to provide examination-specific information in this section only during the designated time frame specified in the examination notification.”
The announcement further elaborated that this new structure is designed to assist candidates in completing the first three sections at their convenience, allowing them to be prepared to apply for any UPSC examination as soon as notifications are released, thus conserving time and preventing last-minute rushes.
Old OTR module not applicable
In this context, the commission has instructed all candidates to complete their applications and upload their documents anew via the newly established portal at upsconline.nic.in.
It was also noted that the previous One Time Registration (OTR) module will no longer be in effect.
Aadhar Card for verification purpose
For verification purposes, candidates are strongly encouraged to utilize their Aadhar Card as an identification document in the Universal Application to ensure easy, efficient, and seamless verification and authentication of their identity and other details. The commission stated that this would create a permanent and unified record for all examinations.
As communicated by the UPSC, applications for the CDS II and NDA & NA II examinations for 2025 will be processed through the new online application portal.
