The Combined Graduate Level Exam (CGLE), 2025, which was supposed to take place on August 13, 2025, has been postponed by the Staff Selection Commission.
The commission announced in an official notice that it has chosen to carry out a thorough assessment of the exam platform and operational preparedness. It also stated that the exam will now begin in the first week of September 2025 and that a revised CGLE schedule will be made available on the Commission’s website shortly.
The action comes after recent computer-based examination (CBE) modifications that were mandated by the Supreme Court. The Selection Posts/Phase XIII Exams, 2025, which took place at 194 locations nationwide from July 24 to August 1, 2025, brought about revisions, according to the commission.
In an effort to combat impersonation and related malpractices, the aforementioned exam also implemented Aadhaar authentication for candidates and Exam Functionaries. However, the commission claimed that operational and technological issues caused certain candidates to experience exam disruptions.
It stated, “Due to operational and technological issues, certain candidates experienced difficulties taking the aforementioned exam throughout its administration. Numerous such candidates were found, and in order to give them an equal chance, they were rescheduled and accommodated in later shifts until August 1, 2025. Additionally, in order to identify more of these applicants, exams were held in three shifts on August 2, 2025, and approximately 8,000 candidates showed up for these assessments.
“There are data gaps on the approximately 55,000 applicants who were identified after the records for all shifts held until August 2nd were analyzed. To correct the record, these candidates should be given the benefit of the doubt. As a result, the Commission has determined that these candidates will be given another chance to take the test on Friday, August 29, 2025.
The commission has also announced that, starting on August 14, 2025, it will activate the One Time Registration (OTR) feature on the official portal.
“The One Time Registration (OTR) feature at the SSC portal was disabled for editing during the period of application submission for various examinations for the 2025 cycle,” the official notice said. For future application reasons, the OTR editing capability will be available once more from August 14th until August 31st, 2025. It is recommended that candidates who want to make modifications to any field in their OTR do so within the time frame mentioned above. Candidates will not be able to amend their OTR beyond the aforementioned window, and applications for subsequent tests will open in September 2025.
Candidates are encouraged to visit SSC’s official website for additional information.
