The National Testing Agency has issued the official notification for UGC NET December 2025 onon its official website. Candidates interested in applying for the examination can now submit their applications on the official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
According to the official schedule, the following are some key dates for UGC NET December 2025:
Submission of online applications: October 7, 2025
Last date to submit applications: November 7, 2025, up to 11:50 PM
Last date for online fee payment: November 7, 2025, up to 11:50 PM
Application correction window: November 10 to 12, 2025, up to 11:50 PM
The NTA will provide details regarding the examination date, admit card, and exam city intimation slips at a later time.
The agency will administer UGC – NET December 2025 for 85 subjects in Computer Based Test (CBT) format.
Important points to note:
Candidates must apply for UGC – NET December 2025 exclusively through the “Online” mode via the website ugcnet.nta.nic.in. Applications submitted in any other format will not be accepted.
Candidates are permitted to submit only one application form.
They must adhere strictly to the instructions outlined in the Information Bulletin available on the NTA website. Those who fail to comply with the instructions will be summarily disqualified, as stated by the NTA.
Candidates should verify that the e-mail address and Mobile Number provided in the Online Application Form belong to them or their Parents/Guardians, and are accessible, as all information/communication will be sent by NTA via e-mail to the registered e-mail address or SMS to the registered Mobile Number.
Application fee:
The application fee for UGC NET December 2025, categorized by type, is as follows:
General: ₹ 1150
General-EWS/OBC(NCL): ₹ 600
SC/ST/PwD/PwBD/Third Gender: ₹325
Candidates can pay the application fee through net-banking, debit/credit card, or UPI.

UGC-NET is administered to assess the eligibility of Indian nationals for the award of Junior Research Fellowship, for the position of Assistant Professor, and for admission to Ph.D. programs in Indian universities and colleges.
