The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an advisory for candidates intending to apply for the UGC NET December 2025 examination. The agency has requested that all applicants verify that their Aadhaar Card and Unique Disability ID (UDID) information is correct and up-to-date prior to submitting their application forms.
The NTA has initiated the online application process for UGC NET December 2025. Eligible candidates may apply via the official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in, from October 7 to November 7. The examination is scheduled to take place in December 2025 and January 2026 across 85 subjects, and will assess eligibility for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor positions, and PhD admissions in Indian universities and colleges.
In its official announcement, the NTA stated, “To facilitate the process for UGC NET December 2025, all eligible candidates are advised to ensure that the following documents are updated when applying for the examination, to prevent any inconvenience and to assist in the registration process and the processing of their JRF.”
The notice further elaborated, “The Aadhaar Card must be updated with the correct name, date of birth (as per Class 10th certificate), recent photograph, address, and father’s name.” Candidates with disabilities are also required to confirm that their UDID Card is valid and renewed as necessary.
How to apply for UGC NET December 2025?
Step 1: Visit ugcnet.nta.nic.in and review the instructions.
Step 2: Register using a valid email ID and mobile number.
Step 3: Complete the form with personal, academic, and examination details.
Step 4: Upload your photo, signature, and UDID (if applicable).
Step 5: Pay the application fee online and submit your application.
Step 6: Download and print the confirmation page.
The application correction window will be available from November 10 to 12, 2025, allowing candidates to make necessary adjustments to their forms. However, the exam city intimation slip, admit card release date, and specific examination schedule will be announced later on the NTA website.
