The Commission revealed the final results, recommending 458 candidates for various engineering positions within the Central government.
These results are derived from the written examination conducted in August and the personality test held in October and November, as stated by the Union Public Service Commission.
Among the recommended candidates, 202 are from the civil engineering category, 116 from electronics and telecommunication, 79 from electrical engineering, and 61 from the mechanical engineering stream, according to the announcement.
The statement also noted that 26 of the selected candidates are from the category of persons with benchmark disabilities.
The government had previously announced 554 vacancies to be filled through the Engineering Services Examination for 2025, which included 251 positions in civil engineering, 134 in electronics and telecommunication, 97 in electrical engineering, and 72 in mechanical engineering, with certain posts reserved for PwBD candidates.
Furthermore, the UPSC indicated that the candidature of 102 of the recommended candidates is provisional, pending verification of their eligibility.
Additionally, the Commission has created a consolidated reserve list of 186 candidates across the four engineering disciplines, which may be utilized if necessary under the Engineering Services Examination Rules for 2025.
Candidates selected through the ESE will be appointed to various technical services, including the Indian Railways Service of Engineers, Indian Defence Service of Engineers, Central Water Engineering Service, Central Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Service, and Border Roads Engineering Service.
The UPSC has established a ‘facilitation counter’ located near the examination building on its campus. Candidates can seek information or clarification regarding their examination or recruitment in person on working days from 10 am to 5 pm, or by calling the telephone numbers 011-23385271 and 011-23381125, as mentioned in the statement.
