The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has made an announcement regarding a change in the timetable for the Chartered Accountant (CA) Intermediate examination, specifically for Group 2, Paper 5 – Auditing and Ethics. Initially scheduled for January 15, the exam has now been rescheduled to January 19, from 2 PM to 5 PM, due to the Municipal Corporation elections taking place in Maharashtra on the original date. The examination will be held at the same centres both in India and internationally.
ICAI has also confirmed that the admit cards issued on December 18 will still be valid for the new date, and candidates are not required to download new hall tickets.
Furthermore, the Institute has stated that the timetable for all other Chartered Accountant (CA) examinations in January will remain the same. Candidates can access their ICAI CA admit cards from the official website, icai.org.
“In partial modification of the Institute’s Important Announcement No. 13-CA (EXAM)/JANUARY/2026 dated 23rd September 2025, it is announced for general information that due to the general election of Municipal Corporations in the State of Maharashtra on 15th January 2026 (Thursday), the Chartered Accountant Intermediate Examination, Group II, Paper – 5, Auditing and Ethics, has been rescheduled across India and abroad. The examination for this paper will now take place on 19th January 2026 (Monday) at the same time, i.e., 2 PM to 5 PM [IST], and at the same Examination Centres,” the notice stated.
The Institute has also released the schedule for the CA Foundation and CA Final examinations for the January 2026 session. The CA Foundation exams are set for January 18, 20, 22, and 24, while the CA Final exams are planned for January 5, 7, and 9 for Group 1, and January 11, 13, and 16 for Group 2.
Furthermore, the ICAI has published the schedule for the CA May 2026 session, which includes Intermediate, Foundation, and Final courses.
Registration will commence on March 3, with the deadline for applications without incurring a late fee set for March 16, and the final date for applications with a late fee extending until March 19.
The examinations for May 2026 are scheduled to take place from May 2 to May 20.
