The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially activated the online facility for Class 12 students seeking to obtain scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets. Following an initial wave of technical glitches due to a high volume of traffic, the board announced via its official X (formerly Twitter) account that the portal is now fully functional.
To ensure that candidates applying for grievance redressal and re-evaluation get sufficient time to complete their documentation, CBSE has extended the application deadline to May 23, 2026.
Key Highlights & Changes in 2026
- Significant Fee Reduction: In a student-friendly move, CBSE drastically slashed the processing fee for obtaining a photocopy of the scanned answer book from ₹700 down to just ₹100 per subject. The Indian Express
- The OSM Controversy Context: The post-result verification process has drawn immense attention this year. Following the implementation of the newly introduced On-Screen Marking (OSM) digital evaluation system, thousands of students, parents, and teachers raised concerns over unexpectedly low scores. In response to demands for transparency, CBSE significantly reduced the financial barriers (fees) for rechecking and provided systematic access to evaluated copies. The Economic Times+ 1
- First-Come, First-Served Dispatch: The board is processing requests sequentially. Scanned answer books will be uploaded directly to the student’s portal log-in on a first-come, first-served basis.

- Unchecked Answers: Ensure every single answer has been assigned a score or evaluated by the teacher.
- Totalling Errors: Cross-verify if the individual marks awarded to each question sum up correctly to the final total on the front page. Physics Wallah
