DHARAMSHALA: The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has officially opened the online registration window for the Class 10 (Matric) and Class 12 (Plus Two) compartment and improvement examinations for the 2025–26 academic session. Eligible candidates can submit their forms through the official portal at hpbose.org.
The compartment and supplementary exams are scheduled to take place during June and July 2026.
Important deadlines:
- Last Date to Apply (Without Late Fee): June 1, 2026
- Last Date to Apply (With Late Fee of ₹1,000): June 5, 2026
Fee and application structure:
- Class 10 (Matric): The fee for the regular compartment and essential improvement category is ₹700 per subject. Candidates opting for optional improvement across a maximum of three compulsory subjects must pay ₹950.
- Class 12 (Plus Two): The fee for the compartment and English-only examinations is set at ₹700, while students seeking overall performance improvement must submit a fee of ₹1,150.
Key examination guidelines:
- Eligibility Criteria: For Class 10, students who have successfully cleared at least three out of five compulsory subjects are eligible to appear for up to two failed papers. Class 12 students who failed in up to two core subjects can apply. The board clarified that fresh applicants will not be permitted to register for this session.
- Practical Assessment Policy: No separate practical or internal assessment tests will be administered for this term. The internal assessment and practical marks secured by the candidates in the main annual examination will be carried forward.
- Score Normalization: For candidates appearing in the improvement category, the higher score between the original annual examination and the supplementary examination will be preserved on the final consolidated marksheet.
Examination forms must be submitted strictly online through the respective schools or institutions before the final deadline to prevent automatic application rejection.
