NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the deadline for NEET UG 2026 candidates to submit their institutional bank account details to process examination fee refunds. According to the official public notice, the submission facility—originally scheduled to close on May 27—will now remain open until June 22, 2026 (until 11:50 PM).
The widespread fee refund process follows massive disruptions and subsequent cancellation of the initial NEET UG exam held on May 3, 2026, amid paper leak allegations. A nationwide re-examination is currently scheduled to take place on June 21, 2026.
Steps to submit bank details for the refund:
- Log In: Visit the official registration portal at
neet.nta.nic.inand log in using your existing student credentials. - Access Link: Locate and click on the dedicated “Fee Refund Submission” link on your candidate dashboard.
- Fill Information: Accurately input the account holder’s name, bank account number, and the corresponding IFSC code.
- Verification Step: Candidates are highly encouraged to upload a clear scanned image of a cancelled cheque to ensure accurate structural verification of the banking data.
Important guidelines for applicants:
- Current Status: The NTA disclosed that approximately 13 lakh eligible candidates have successfully updated their profiles since the specialized portal feature went live on May 22.
- Final Submission Warning: The board has explicitly cautioned that all submitted banking records will be treated as final and entirely uneditable. Candidates are strongly urged to thoroughly review their information prior to final locking, as typographical errors may lead to transaction failures.
- Avoid Delay: Aspirants who have yet to complete the documentation are advised not to delay until the final cutoff date to circumvent potential server congestion or network timeouts.
