Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in its recently issued circular, has allowed students to change their board exam centres for the upcoming exams. The decision was taken in view of students who have shifted along with their families to a different part of the country amid the pandemic. It is difficult for students to appear for the practical or theory examination from the school or examination centre the students are enrolled or allotted.
The CBSE notification reads that “It has come to the notice of the board that because of Covid-19 pandemic, students of classes 10, 12, along with their families, have shifted to some other city or country and therefore, they are unable to appear in the practical/ theory exam from the school/ exam centre where the students are registered for the board exams,”.
As per the announcement candidates can change their exam centre till 2th march, 2021. To make changes, Students need to place a request to change the exam centre through their respective schools. If the exam centre is changed, it will be changed to one city for both practical and theory exam. Separate exam centres will not be allowed for students requesting centre change. Schools must submit request carefully as only one request per student will be entertained.
In another notice, CBSE has also permitted schools to conduct the practical examinations in 3 sheets per day instead of 2. This has been done keeping in view that some schools might have a larger number of students which would not be easy to accomodate in 2 shifts. Other guidelines regarding practical exams remain the same.
CBSE Board Examination 2021 for Classes 10 and 12 are scheduled to begin from May 4, 2021. The exams for Class 10 would end on June 8 and for Class 12 on June 14. The board has revised the CBSE 10th 12th Date Sheet 2021, which is available on cbse.nic.in.
As per to the schedule, the practical examinations for class 12th students have started in various schools across the country. CBSE has not yet released the admit cards with the examination centres as yet. Schools have the option of conducting the practical examination till the end of the theory papers, i.e., June 14 this year due to COVID-19. Results would be announced by July 15.
