Gujarat government directed the colleges across the state to remain shut till April 30, 2021, due to the sharp rise in the COVID 19 cases. As per the announcement all the government and Gujarat colleges have been told to continue the classes through online mode till further notices. The schools up to class 9 have been already ordered to remain shut across the state. However, due to the sharp rise in the COVID 19 cases in the state, the Gujarat government has decided to shut colleges and continue online classes until the decided date.
CM Vijay Rupani said that the state government had imposed a night curfew in 20 major cities between 8 pm to 6 am. And certain important decisions have been taken, including the closure of schools and colleges, in order to check the sharp rise of coronavirus cases in the state.
The government has directed the colleges to conduct online education as per the semester requirement. While schools for students of classes 1-9 were shut last week till further notice by the government. Hence, Gujarat colleges will remain closed till April 30 and schools up to class 9 till further notice amid the rise in COVID-19 cases.
