National Testing Agency (NTA) has postponed the UGC NET 2021 exam due to the rise in COVID-19 cases across the nation. The UGC NET 2021 exam was scheduled to be conducted from May 2, which got postponed till further notice. The UGC NET 2021 new exam dates will be announced 15 days before the exam.
The decision of UGC NET 2021 postponement is taken considering the safety and well-being of students and exam functionaries. Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, Education Minister, recently tweeted that UGC NET 2021 postponed considering the safety of everyone during the COVID-19 outbreak and also requested to stay safe and follow all the necessary precautions.

The UGC NET exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency twice a year to determine the eligibility of Assistant Professors/Lecturers and JRF. Candidates with post-graduation degrees can apply for the UGC NET exam. Last year, the UGC NET exam was conducted only for the June session due to the coronavirus pandemic.
