The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has postponed the release of the UPSC CMS (Combined Medical Services 2021) notification and application form. The UPSC CMS 2021 notification was supposed to be released on May 5, 2021, along with the application form.
The UPSC released a notice on its official website upsc.gov.in related to the same. UPSC has not specified any reason behind the postponement, however, the rapid COVID-19 surge can be cited as the reason behind this decision taken by the premier recruitment agency.
The UPSC generally releases the Combined Medical Services recruitment notification on its official website to recruit MBBS qualified candidates for medical officer posts. Candidates who meet the minimum eligibility criteria of UPSC CMS 2021 will have to fill in the application form in online mode by paying the application fee to confirm their submission.
About the exam
The UPSC CMS exam is conducted in two stages i.e. written exam and interview. The written exam consists of two papers. Paper 1 has general multiple-choice questions (MCQs), while paper 2 has questions from general medicine and pediatrics subjects.
Earlier, UPSC also postponed some of its exams like the UPSC IAS interview for the 2020 session, UPSC IES/ISS Interview, UPSC EPFO recruitment exam, etc. The exams were postponed due to the exponential increase in coronavirus cases and the lockdown which was imposed in many states.
