Board of Secondary Education, Odisha has released the marking criteria for Class 10. The board has earlier decided to cancel the Odisha matric exam 2021, due to the surge in COVID-19 cases. As the marks will now be evaluated on the basis of scores of Class 9 and 10.
The announcement was done through a tweet, “marks will be based on the scores in Class 9 and 10 exams. Class 9 half-yearly and yearly exams to be considered. Along with this, Class 10 2nd, 3rd, and 4th practice exam mark to be taken into account as well.”
The Odisha Board 10th exams were scheduled to be held from May 3 to 15, 2021. Before Odisha Board, CBSE has canceled the Class 10 exams earlier last month, due to the rapid increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in the country.
A few days back, CBSE has released the new marking scheme for Class 10. As per the CBSE Class 10 new marking scheme, Class 10 results will be prepared on the basis of internal assessments conducted by their respective schools.
The alternative assessment method and passing criteria for the 10th Board Result are explained below:

- Class 9 half-yearly, annual exam marks, and Class 10 practice test marks will be considered for the scoring.
- 40 percent weightage will be given to the highest marks obtained in Class 9 exams in each subject.
- 60 percent weightage will come from the practice tests conducted in Class 10.
- The two highest marks obtained in class 10 practice tests will be given a weightage of 30% each.
- If any student has appeared in only one or none practice test, then weightage will be considered from Class 9 exams accordingly.
