Directorate of Educational Research and Training, Shillong has postponed the online application process for Meghalaya Teacher Eligibility Test (MTET). The MTET application form 2021 was scheduled to be released today on the official website at megeducation.gov.in.
As per the latest Meghalaya TET notice, “The online application of MTET 2021, scheduled to be started on June 10, 2021, is hereby deferred. The new dates of the online application will be intimated later.” The examination is going to be conducted on August 28, 2021, in the state. The selection process includes Meghalaya TET 2021 for Paper I and Paper II. MTET is going to be conducted in offline mode and the exam duration is for two hours, 30 minutes. The medium of the exam will be in English.
Meghalaya Teacher Eligibility Test (MTET) is the state-level examination conducted by the Directorate of Educational Research & Training, Shillong. The Meghalaya TET exam is conducted to determine eligibility for teachers from Class 1 to 8 for the government schools of Meghalaya.
Meghalaya TET Eligibility Criteria 2021
For Class 1 to 5: Candidates should have completed Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 50% along with 2 years of Diploma in Elementary Education or 4 years of BElEd.
For Class 6 to 8: Graduation with a minimum aggregate of 50% along with 2 years of Diploma in Elementary Education or 4 years of BElEd or Diploma in Special Education. In the education qualification, 5% relaxation will be provided to the reserved category candidates.
Meghalaya TET Exam Pattern
As per the MTET exam pattern, there will be two papers in the MTET exam. Paper – I will conduct for candidates who have applied for Class 1 to 5 and candidates who want to teach Class 6 to 8 have to appear in Paper-II. The exam will be conducted in offline mode.
There will be 150 multiple-choice questions in both papers. Students will be awarded one mark for each correct answer and there will be no negative marking for wrong answers.
