Kaif Ali of Jamia MIllia Islamia, New Delhi wins Diana Award 2021 for his innovation titled ‘Covid-19 Innovation space era’. He is a 4th year student of Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) programme.
At the very start of 2020 Covid-19 bring world on its knees. Then Kaif started his research around using architecture knowledge to prevent the virus from spreading. And outcome is a prefabricated sustainable shelter that would not only help reduce transmission of the virus but could also house refugees worldwide in the future.
According to Kaif, his design is now being implemented in Lagos, Nigeria, appreciated by the Government of India, the Commonwealth of Nations, and the United Nations under the top 11 emerging innovation start-ups solving climate action. The Vice-Chancellor of the Jamia Millia Islamia Prof. Prof. Najma Akhtar congratulated Kaif for his achievements.
