The Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Roorkee has started the online registration process for the IIT JAM 2022 on the official website, the link for which is jam.iitr.ac.in. The last date for online registration/application submission and uploading of documents to the website is October 11, 2021 (Monday). The JAM 2022 examination will be conducted online only as a computer-based test (CBT) for all test papers. JAM 2022 will be held on February 13, 2022 (Sunday).
How to apply for IIT JAM 2022
Candidates can apply for JAM 2022 only by logging into the application portal for which a link is available at the website jam.iitr.ac.in. A candidate has to first register on the JAM 2022 application portal, by providing his/her name, a valid E-mail address, a working mobile number, and password. The candidate must give an E-mail address that he/she uses and checks frequently, as all communication to the candidate from JAM 2022 will be sent to this E-mail address.
Education qualification required:
The candidates who qualify for JAM 2022 must fulfill the following Eligibility Requirements (ERs) for admission to IITs. All candidates admitted through JAM should have a Bachelor’s degree.
In the qualifying degree, the aggregate marks or CGPA/CPI without rounding-off (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) should be at least 55% or 5.5 out of 10 for General/OBC (NCL)/EWS category candidates, and 50% or 5.0 out of 10 for SC/ST and PwD category candidates.
About the Pattern of test papers
The JAM 2022 Examination for all the seven Test Papers will be conducted as an online Computer Based Test (CBT) where the candidates will be shown the questions in a random sequence on a computer screen.
There will be a total of 60 questions carrying a total of 100 marks. The entire paper will be divided into three sections, A, B, and C. All sections are compulsory.
In all sections, questions not attempted will result in a zero mark. In Section-A (MCQ), the wrong answer will result in negative marks. For each wrong answer to 1-mark questions, 1/3 mark will be deducted and, similarly, for each wrong answer to 2 marks questions, marks will be deducted. In Section-B (MSQ), there are no negative and no partial marking provisions. There is no negative marking in Section-C (NAT) as well.
