The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has approved the Swanath Scholarship Scheme to support the orphans, kids whose either parent died due to COVID-19 crisis, wards of Armed Forces and Central Paramilitary Forces, martyred in action, to pursue education, AICTE announced on social media.
AICTE has decided to give a scholarship of Rs 50,000 per year for every year of education of these students. “#AICTE–#SWANATH #SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME Financial support of ₹ 50000 p.a. for every yr of study for children from categories: #Orphan Either or both parents died due to #Covid19 Wards of #ArmedForces& #CentralParamilitaryForces martyred in action #Shaheed,” AICTE said in a social media post.

Further, AICTE said that the students must be currently studying in AICTE-approved colleges or courses at Degree or Diploma level in regular mode. As per AICTE, a total of 2000 scholarships will be awarded each year to eligible students, wherein 1000 scholarships will be given to Degree students and rest to Diploma students.
