In accordance with the state education policy, the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education has declared that admit cards for the forthcoming semester examinations, which will be conducted for the first time for Plus-II level students, will be available online.
In an official statement, the council remarked, “Students who have successfully completed Class 11 will take their semester-III examinations in September. This marks the inaugural occasion on which the council will conduct semester exams.”
The examinations are scheduled to take place from September 8 to 22 and will be entirely administered using OMR sheets.
“Admit cards for the semester III examinations will be made available online. The head of the respective institution can download and print the admit card for students by accessing the council’s portal with their login credentials,” the notice, signed by council President Chiranjib Bhattacharya, indicated.
During the 1.15-hour examination, candidates will not be permitted to leave for the washroom.
Considering the rainy season, the storage location for question papers and OMR sheets will be situated in an area that has no history of waterlogging.
In the event of any emergency or unforeseen circumstance, the examination center will be relocated, he further stated.
As the entire third-semester examination is based on multiple-choice questions, to guarantee that no two candidates seated next to each other receive identical papers, various question sets will be distributed, akin to competitive examinations such as NEET-UG or JEE.
In mid-April, the WBCHSE released a notice announcing the implementation of the semester system for classes 11 and 12 in all state-run and state-aided educational institutions.
While the third-semester examinations are set to occur between September 8-22 this year, the fourth-semester examinations will take place from February 12-27 next year.
In mid-April, WBCHSE had formally declared the adoption of the semester system for classes 11 and 12 across state-run and state-aided schools.
Under the new framework, the higher secondary or 10+2 curriculum now consists of four segments — semester 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Class 11 has been restructured as semester 1 and 2, while class 12 has been redesigned as semester 3 and 4, as stated in the notice.
