The State Bank of India has announced the dates for the SBI PO Prelims Exam 2025. The preliminary examination for the Probationary Officer position is scheduled to take place on August 2, 4, and 5, 2025. Candidates can verify the exam dates on SBI’s official website at sbi.co.in.
The preliminary examination will consist of an objective test worth 100 marks. It will include three sections (each with separate timings): English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability. The total duration of the exam is 1 hour. There will be no sectional cut-off in the preliminary examination.
A penalty will be imposed for incorrect answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question answered incorrectly by the candidate, a deduction of 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question will be made as a penalty to calculate the corrected score.
The admit card for the examination is expected to be available soon. Candidates will be able to download the hall ticket for the SBI PO prelims from the official SBI website.
The results for the SBI PO prelims will be announced in August or September.
The selection process will occur in three phases: Phase-I, Phase-II, and Phase-III. Candidates who are shortlisted after Phase-I (the Preliminary Examination) will need to take the Phase-II (the Main Examination). Those who are selected after Phase-II will then be invited to participate in Phase-III (which includes the Psychometric Test, Group Exercise, and Interview).
This recruitment initiative aims to fill 541 Probationary Officer positions, of which 500 are regular vacancies and 41 are backlog vacancies. The registration period was from June 24 to July 14, 2025. For further details, candidates can refer to the official SBI website.
