The University of Mumbai (MU), Mumbai is planning to start a new master’s programme in management through distance learning. The new management course Master of Management Studies (MMS) will be delivered by Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL).
The Mumbai University academic council has already approved the MMS course through IODL. Now the MU will send proposal to University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi for approval. The MU IODL will start MMS programme delivery from academic session 2022-23.
“Many universities in India offer MBA courses in management through distance learning. There was a demand from the University of Mumbai to start distance learning courses as well. This will fulfil the dream of many students to pursue MMS education. This course will be run in a quality manner,” said Suhas Pednekar, VC, Mumbai University.
The IODL Mumbai University will conduct separate entrance examination for admission to Master of Management Studies (MMS) programme. The course curriculum will be similar to MMS programmes offered by other business schools. Candidates will be assisted through printed study materials, online content etc. by various IODL Centers of Mumbai University.
