The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the schedule for the Combined Defence Services (CDS) 1 examination for 2025, which can be found at upsc.gov.in. The examination is set to take place on April 13, divided into three shifts.
The first shift is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, during which candidates will take the English paper. The second shift will run from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM, focusing on the General Knowledge paper, while the third shift, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, will cover the Elementary Mathematics paper.
The UPSC CDS examination is conducted for admissions to the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, and the Officers’ Training Academy. This year, there are 457 positions available.
Candidates aiming for the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and Air Force Academy must complete all three papers, whereas those seeking admission to the Officers’ Training Academy are only required to take the English and General Knowledge papers.
All examination papers will consist solely of objective-type questions. The General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics papers will be available in both Hindi and English.
When applicable, questions will utilize the metric system for weights and measures.
Candidates are not allowed to use a scribe during the CDS examination, nor are they permitted to use calculators for the objective-type questions.
The Elementary Mathematics papers will be set at the Matriculation (Class 10) level, while the standards for the other subjects will be comparable to what is expected of a graduate from an Indian university.
