The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced an increase in the number of vacancies to be filled through the Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL) 2024. According to the most recent updates, the commission will now fill a total of 18,174 vacancies through this examination. Initially, the commission had indicated that 17,727 vacancies in Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ of the central government would be addressed through CGL 2024.
Candidates can view the distribution of vacancies by post on the official SSC website, ssc.gov.in.
Additionally, the quarterly job estimates will be provided through the All-India Quarterly Establishment-based Employment Survey (AQEES), which is currently in progress.
The SSC has also made available the option-cum-preference form for CGL 2024.
The results for the SSC CGL tier 1 were announced on December 5, 2024. Candidates who were shortlisted participated in the tier 2 examination from January 18 to 20, and again on January 31, 2025.
Before the final results are released, candidates who took the tier 2 exam are required to submit their option-cum-preference for posts and departments.
Furthermore, the SSC JE final answer key for 2024 has been released and can be downloaded via a direct link on the SSC website.
The submission window for the option-cum-preference form will remain open until February 27 at 5 PM, accessible through candidate login on the commission’s website.
Candidates are advised that the option-cum-preference selections can only be modified during this specified period, and the last submission made will be considered final. It is imperative that candidates ensure they submit their preferences by clicking the “SUBMIT” button. Those who do not exercise their option-cum-preference during this timeframe will not have another opportunity to submit and will be excluded from the final merit list and selection, as stated by the SSC.
It was emphasized that candidates with disabilities (PwBD) should only indicate preferences for positions that have been designated as appropriate for their specific disabilities.
The commission has urged candidates to carefully review the examination notification and confirm that they meet the necessary criteria for the positions prior to submitting their preference forms.
