The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the schedule for the second session of the JEE Main examination. The exams are set to take place from April 2 to April 9. Previously, the session was planned to occur between April 1 and April 8.
The NTA will administer the JEE Main across various cities in India, as well as in 15 international locations. Students can access the examination schedule on the official website: jeemain.nta.nic.in.
The examination dates for JEE Main session 2 are as follows:
- April 2, 3, 4, and 7: Paper 1, which pertains to BE and BTech courses. Each of these days will feature two shifts, with the morning session commencing at 9 AM and concluding at noon, while the afternoon session will run from 3 PM to 6 PM.
- April 8: The examination on this day will only be conducted in the afternoon shift, from 3 PM to 6 PM.
In the first session of JEE Main, out of 1,311,544 candidates who registered for the 2025 Paper 1 exam, 1,258,136 candidates (95.93 percent) participated. The Agency excluded 12 questions from the session, and the final answer key was published on February 10.
The first session was conducted in 13 languages, including Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. The NTA did not release scores for 39 candidates due to their involvement in Unfair Means practices.
Among the top performers in session one, there was a single female topper from Andhra Pradesh, Sai Manogna Guthikonda. Most of the top scorers hailed from Rajasthan.
In the ST category, Parth Sehra from Rajasthan achieved the highest score, while Harshal Gupta from Chhattisgarh topped the PwBD category. Daksh from Delhi was the top scorer in the OBC NCL category, and Shreyas Lohiya from Uttar Pradesh led in the SC category of the JEE Main examination.
A total of 1,311,544 candidates enrolled for Paper 1 (B.E./B. Tech.) across various categories and genders. Of these, 443,622 were female candidates, including 167,790 from the General category, 45,627 from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), 42,704 from the Scheduled Caste (SC), 13,833 from the Scheduled Tribe (ST), and 173,668 from the Other Backward Classes (OBC).
Candidates who achieve success will gain admission to NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and other affiliated institutions via JoSAA counselling. Furthermore, the leading 250,000 qualified candidates from JEE Main 2025 will be eligible to take part in JEE Advanced 2025.
