The University Placement Cell at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has officially announced the commencement of placements for the graduating batch of 2026. According to an official statement, students from various engineering disciplines have received offers from multinational corporations for different roles and salary packages.
The placement season commenced with a student from the B.Tech in Computer Engineering program receiving a Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) from Optum for the position of Software Development Engineer, with a salary package of Rs 18 lakh per annum. Additionally, the institute reported that four other students from the same program have been selected by IDFC First Bank as Application Engineers, each with offers of Rs 16 lakh per annum.
From the B.Tech in Electronics and Communication program, one student has secured a PPO from Accenture for the role of Associate Software Engineer, with a package of Rs 11.89 lakh per annum.
In the field of Electrical Engineering, three students have been hired by Siemens Energy India Limited (SEIL). Two B.Tech graduates have been offered positions as Graduate Engineer Trainees (GET) with a salary of Rs 6 lakh per annum, while one M.Tech graduate has been selected as a Post Graduate Engineer Trainee (PGET) with a package of Rs 9 lakh per annum.
The University Placement Cell has indicated that these selections represent the initial results of the 2026 placement season. It further noted that the process is being conducted under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mazhar Asif and Registrar Prof. Md Mahtab Alam Rizvi. The Placement Cell team, which includes Prof. Rahela Farooqi, Prof. Sabah Khan, and Prof. Rihan Khan Suri, has also recognized the accomplishments of the students in the current placement cycle.
