Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) published the recommended answers for the General Tamil/General English and General Knowledge sections of the preliminary examination for the Combined Civil Services Examination -II (Volume II and IIA Services). Candidates can access the answer keys at tnpsc.gov.in. The TNPSC 2025 group 2 examination took place on September 28.
Candidates who wish to contest any of the proposed answers may submit their appeals through the “Answer Key Challenge” portal available on the Commission’s official website. The deadline for submitting these appeals is 5:45 pm on October 14, 2025 (Tuesday).
In a statement regarding this matter, the Commission indicated that grievances will only be accepted through the online portal. Submissions made via post or email will not be taken into account.
Candidates are encouraged to thoroughly review the instructions provided on the Commission’s website prior to submitting their challenges.
TNPSC Combined Civil Services Exam: Instructions for checking the answer key
Step 1: Navigate to the official website – tnpsc.gov.in
Step 2: On the homepage, click on the recruitment tab. A drop-down menu will be displayed.
Step 3: Click on question papers, and select the objective type (answer keys).
Step 4: Choose Combined Civil Services Exam 1 in group 1.
Step 5: Click on the general studies paper.
Step 6: Input your credentials, including your registration number, application number, date of birth, and select the question paper.
Step 7: Submit your answers, verify the results, and download them for future reference.
In the TNPSC Group 2 Preliminary Examination, candidates are not penalized for incorrect answers, as there is no negative marking. Each correct answer contributes 1.5 marks to the overall score.
After reviewing any valid objections submitted by candidates, TNPSC will release a final answer key. This finalized key will be used to calculate the official results, taking into account any changes or clarifications made during the objection review process.
The TNPSC has stated that the preliminary examination is solely a screening test, and the marks obtained in this phase will not be included in the final merit list. The results for Group 2 and 2A are anticipated to be announced in December 2025, according to the Commission.
