The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has declared an extension of the registration deadline for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) for admissions into Classes 9 and 11. Candidates are now able to submit their applications for JNVST 2026 until October 21, 2025, via the official website at cbseitms.nic.in.
According to the revised schedule, the JNVST 2026 entrance examination for both classes is set to take place on February 7, 2026. NVS has emphasized that registration is compulsory for all candidates wishing to gain admission and must be finalized before the extended deadline.
How to apply for JNVST Admission 2026?
Candidates can adhere to the following steps to complete the JNVST application procedure:
Step 1: Navigate to the official website — cbseitms.nic.in.
Step 2: Click on the registration link for Class 9 or Class 11 admissions.
Step 3: Provide the necessary details and upload a passport-sized photograph.
Step 4: Complete the academic information and upload the signatures of both the student and the parent.
Step 5: Carefully review all entered information and submit the application form.
JNVST 2026 exam pattern
For Class 9, the examination will encompass English, Hindi, Mathematics, and General Science, featuring a total of 100 objective-type questions worth 100 marks.
For Class 11, the test will consist of Mental Ability, English, Science, Social Science, and Mathematics, also comprising 100 questions for 100 marks.
Both selection tests will be administered over a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Selection process
Following the conclusion of the exams, NVS will publish a list of shortlisted candidates. Selected students will be required to submit their domicile certificate, educational qualification documents, and birth certificate for verification.
The Principal of the respective Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) will notify candidates of their selection via SMS to their registered mobile number. Furthermore, confirmation letters will be dispatched through speed post to the shortlisted students.
