The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has officially declared the results for the Second Pre-University Course (PUC) Examination 2 for the 2026 academic year. Students who sat for these supplementary and performance improvement exams can now access their digital marks memos online via the board’s official result tracking portals.

Under Karnataka’s newly established evaluation framework, Exam 2 serves as a vital bridge for students attempting to clear failed subjects or elevate their core scores. Because the board seamlessly aggregates the best scores achieved across Exam 1 and Exam 2, the cumulative state pass percentage reached an unprecedented 92.25%, showcasing a monumental jump of over 7 percentage points compared to the 2025 metric of 85.19%.

2026 Performance Metrics & Statistical Analysis

A detailed statistical review of Exam 2 reveals targeted academic preparation across the state. Out of 80,535 candidates who appeared for the second examination tier, 36,764 passed successfully, translating to a standalone Exam 2 pass rate of 45.65%.

1. Cumulative Performance Breakdown (Exam 1 + Exam 2 Consolidated)

When the performance vectors of both Exam 1 and Exam 2 are factored together into the unified 2026 scorecard, the figures reflect absolute academic growth:

  • Total Appeared: 6,34,233 candidates
  • Total Passed: 5,85,077 candidates
  • Consolidated Pass Rate: 92.25%

2. Stream-Wise Passing Metrics (Exam 2 Standalone vs. Consolidated)

The Science stream continued its dominant streak, recording the highest passing metrics across both examination iterations:

Stream / DisciplineExam 2 Standalone Pass Rate2026 Final Consolidated Pass Rate
Science50.79%96.01%
Commerce43.00%92.84%
Arts43.72%83.31%

3. Subject-Wise Centums Highlight

Exam 2 witnessed an incredible wave of perfect scores, with students maximizing their academic retention:

  • Mathematics: 315 students scored a perfect 100/100.
  • Chemistry: 75 students hit full marks.
  • Physics: 61 students scored centums.
  • Kannada Language: 60 students achieved perfect marks.
  • Computer Science: 48 students secured full marks.

The Best-of-Both-Exams Evaluation System

Karnataka’s multi-exam system is a student-centric reform designed to combat academic anxiety. The system functions on specific operational principles:

  • No Risk Mechanism: If a student attempts Exam 2 to improve a score but scores lower than they did in Exam 1, the system automatically preserves the higher grade from Exam 1.
  • Elimination of Third Exam: The Ministry of School Education clarified that no third exam will be conducted for the 2026 batch. The results compiled after Exam 2 represent the definitive academic outcomes for the year.
