The Indian Air Force (IAF) has initiated the registration process for the AFCAT 2025 on its official website. Interested and eligible candidates wishing to apply for the Air Force Common Admission Test 2025 (02/2025) can do so via the official website at afcat.cdac.in.
It is important for candidates to be aware that the application deadline is July 1, 2025.
According to the official notification, this recruitment examination is intended for the grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in both the Flying Branch and the Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches.
The IAF aims to fill approximately 283 vacancies through this recruitment process.
The notification also stated that the AFCAT 2025 will take place on August 23, 2025, and August 24, 2025.
Are you eligible?
To determine eligibility for AFCAT 2025, candidates must consider the following criteria:
NATIONALITY
Candidates must be citizens of India as defined by the Indian Citizenship Act of 1955.
AGE
(i) For the Flying Branch through AFCAT and NCC Special Entry: Candidates must be between 20 to 24 years old as of July 1, 2026 (born between July 2, 2002, and July 1, 2006, inclusive).
However, the upper age limit is relaxable to 26 years for candidates possessing a valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by the DGCA (India).
(ii) For the Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch: Candidates must be between 20 to 26 years old as of July 1, 2026 (born between July 2, 2002, and July 1, 2006, inclusive).
Marital Status
Candidates must remain unmarried at the start of the course, and marriage during training is prohibited. Any candidate who marries during the training period will be discharged and will be required to reimburse all expenses incurred by the Government on their behalf.
DATE OF BIRTH
According to the notification, “The date of birth recognized by the IAF is the one recorded in the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate, or in a certificate acknowledged by an Indian University as equivalent to Matriculation, or in an extract from a Register of Matriculates maintained by a University, which must be certified by the appropriate authority of the University, or in the Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination certificate. No other documents pertaining to age, such as horoscopes, affidavits, birth extracts from the Municipal Corporation, service records, and similar documents will be accepted.”
It is essential to exercise caution when entering the Date of Birth. If, upon verification at any later stage, it is discovered that the DOB differs from that recorded in the Matriculation or equivalent examination certificate, it will result in disqualification.
Examination fee
Candidates are required to pay ₹550 + GST (nonrefundable) as the examination fee. However, candidates applying for NCC Special entry are exempt from this fee.
