The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has officially introduced the Final Model Curriculum for Undergraduate Textile Engineering Courses and released the Draft Model Curriculum for Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) Programs for public feedback. This dual initiative highlights AICTE’s dedication to providing advanced educational frameworks that not only boost employability but also promote innovation and support entrepreneurial development.
The launch of the Textile Engineering Model Curriculum was overseen by AICTE Chairman, Prof. T.G. Sitharam, in collaboration with the Expert Committee led by Prof. Abhijit Majumdar, who played a key role in developing the curriculum. The event was also attended by AICTE Vice Chairman Dr. Abhay Jere and Member Secretary Prof. Rajive Kumar.
In his keynote address, Prof. Sitharam emphasized that the finalized curriculum is in line with AICTE’s mission to equip students for the rapidly changing textile industry. The curriculum seamlessly blends foundational courses in science and engineering with specialized topics such as textile technology, sustainability, nanotechnology, smart textiles, and technical textiles.
