The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has confirmed that there are no intentions to delay the Group 2 services mains examination, which is set to take place today, February 23.
A statement from the commission indicated that a fraudulent web note is being disseminated on social media, falsely claiming that the Main Examination for Group-II Services (Notification No. 11/2023), scheduled for 23/02/2025 in the forenoon and afternoon sessions, has been postponed. This information is inaccurate, and a police complaint for criminal prosecution is being filed in response, as stated on the commission’s official website, psc.ap.gov.in.
The examination will proceed today in two sessions: from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Hall tickets for the examination have already been issued.
As reported by HT Telugu, a total of 92,250 candidates are eligible to participate in the APPSC Group 2 mains examination, which will be conducted across 175 examination centers in 13 districts.
The Main Examination will consist of objective-type questions and will be administered either in an offline (OMR-based) format or through Computer Test (CBT) mode.
Candidates aspiring for the APPSC Group 2 positions have been advocating for a postponement of the exam, citing discrepancies in the roster system.
They have urged the government to rectify these errors prior to the main examination and have taken to the streets to voice their concerns.
The High Court has declined to intervene in the examination process but has granted the government the discretion to amend any mistakes.
In a prior notification, the APPSC announced that it would solicit post preferences from candidates once more following the Mains examination.
The notification states, “This is to inform that as per para 15.8 of the Notification pertaining to Group-II services (Notification No.11/2023, Dated: 07.12.2023), the Commission will be taking the preferences of the candidates once again for the various posts notified after the conduct of main examinations, prior to the preparation of the selection list.”
The APPSC is conducting the Group 2 recruitment examination to fill 899 positions across various state government departments.
