The University of Allahabad has decided that waive off the total academic fee and 50% hostel fees for the academic session 2021-22 for the students of the university and affiliated colleges. The decision was taken as many students have lost their parents due to Covid-19.
“Keeping in view the pitiable plight of such students, the Vice Chancellor has been pleased to waive off the academic fee and 50% hostel fees for the academic session 2021-22 in respect of those students of University of Allahabad and constituent colleges who have lost their parents due to coronavirus,” the AU latest notice read.
The provision is not for those students who have lost a single parent, it added. “However, this facility will be limited till June 30, 2022, or completion of annual/semester examination of the student concerned whichever is earlier and will be applicable for 2021-22 session only,”.
In other news, state boards have started revising board exam 2022 dates due to a clash with Joint Entrance Examination Mains 2022 (JEE Mains 2022). Karnataka 2nd PUC exam, Telangana Class 12 exams have been postponed. Meanwhile, the West Bengal board is also contemplating changes in HS Class 12 exam dates 2022.
