Following a wave of system errors on its official portal, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a fresh circular addressing the technical issues faced by Class 12 students attempting to request scanned copies of their evaluated answer books.
The online application module suffered severe server strain, leading to payment errors, login failures, and slow response times for parents and students. In its latest notice, CBSE confirmed that a dedicated team of technical experts has been deployed to resolve the problem and restore full system functionality.
Important Application Updates and Deadlines
| Key Metric | Status / Revised Schedule |
| Portal Status | Expected to resume standard operations from 2:00 PM onwards |
| Extended Deadline to Apply | May 23, 2026 (Extended due to technical issues) |
| Official Application Website | cbse.gov.in |
CBSE Establishes Student Priority Guidelines
To manage server load and streamline operations once the website resumes service, the board has requested that students self-segregate based on their immediate needs:
- High Priority (Grievance Redressal): Students who require their scanned answer books urgently to identify errors, calculate discrepancies, or proceed with formal verification and re-evaluation should utilize the system immediately upon restoration.
- Low Priority (Archival / Personal Records): Students or parents who simply wish to obtain a copy of the answer book for record-keeping or personal archives are requested to wait. CBSE has promised to open a separate, dedicated window for archival requests immediately after the formal re-evaluation process concludes.
The board has appealed for calm, stating, “We request your patience and cooperation in this regard while our teams work toward full restoration.”
Significant Fee Reductions for Post-Result Services
In a move that brings major financial relief to families, CBSE has heavily slashed the processing charges for all post-result verification services this year. The revised cost structure makes the correction process far more accessible:
- Scanned Copies of Answer Books: Reduced from ₹700 per subject to just ₹100 per subject.
- Marks Verification Requests: Slashed from ₹500 to ₹100.
- Re-evaluation Charges: Dropped from ₹100 per specific question to ₹25 per question.
How to Proceed Once the Portal Resumes
When the technical glitches are cleared, students can log back into the official board portal at cbse.gov.in. From there, they must navigate to the post-verification services link, use their examination roll number, school number, and admit card ID to sign in, and complete their selection alongside the heavily subsidized online fee payment.
