NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has activated the online application window for the re-evaluation and verification of Class 10 and Class 12 board exam answer sheets today, May 29, 2026. Students who are unsatisfied with their initial results can submit requests through the official portal at cbse.gov.in (or via pvr.cbseit.in).
This year’s post-result process features a fully digital re-evaluation framework designed to handle millions of answer pages. The application steps must be followed in strict sequential order:
Sequential review process and fee structure:
Verification of Marks (Stage 1): Scrutiny for basic calculation or totaling errors (Fee: ₹100 per subject).
- Verification of Marks (Stage 1): Scrutiny for basic calculation or totaling errors (Fee: ₹100 per subject).
- Obtaining Scanned Photocopy (Stage 2): Available only to those who completed Stage 1, allowing students to check for unchecked answers or marking discrepancies (Fee: ₹100 per subject).
- Re-evaluation (Stage 3): Rechecking of specific, individual questions based on the scanned copy (Fee: ₹25 per question).
Key guidelines:
- Deadline Security: The board has heavily slashed fees this year (down from previous highs of ₹500–₹700) to make the review process more accessible to all students.
- Refund Policy: CBSE has announced that if a student’s marks increase after the final re-evaluation phase, the application fee for that specific request will be fully refunded.
- Important Warning: Marks modified during this process—whether they increase or decrease—will be considered final and binding.
Students are advised to review their downloaded answer keys carefully and complete the online application alongside necessary digital fee payments before the portal closes.
