The Union Government is implementing Dr. Ambedkar Pre & Post Matric Scholarship for DNTs. This was stated in a written reply in Rajya Sabha by the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Krishan Pal Gurjar. He informed that for educational upliftment of De-notified, Nomadic, and Semi-Nomadic Tribes- DNTs, the government is implementing a Centrally Sponsored Scheme, Dr. Ambedkar Pre and Post Matric Scholarship.
The scheme of Pre-matric Scholarship for DNT students is helpful in spreading education among DNT children especially the girl child.
The minister also informed that Development and Welfare Board for Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Communities was constituted through Gazette Notification on 21st February 2019.
