DST opens INSPIRE Scholarship 2020; apply now

Department of Science and Technology (DST) is accepting applications for INSPIRE Scholarship 2020. The selected students will receive scholarship up to Rs. 80000/- per month towards higher education. Meritorious students will be awarded INSPIRE Scholarship under Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE) 2020.

The candidates who have passed Class 12th Examination and whose age ranges from 17 to 22 years are eligible to apply. The applicants must be enrolled in a regular study program natural or basic sciences of duration of three years such as BSc, BSc Honours, four years BS and five years integrated MSc or MS programs in any College, University or Institutions in India recognised by UGC.

The selection of candidates will be done on the basis of performance in board examinations within the cut-off threshold for State or Central Board Examination in the year 2020 in class 12, and/or performance in any of the specified competitive examinations such as JEE Mains and Advanced, NEET.

In addition, the recipients of other scholarships and medals will also be considered for the award of SHE 2020.

The continuation of SHE INSPIRE for selected candidates is conditional and based on performance of candidates in further academic examinations. Candidates will be certified by the institutions they are studying in for the degree courses.

Students enrolled for first year of BSc, BSc Honours, BS, Integrated MSc or MS programs in the following subjects can apply for the scholarship:

Physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology, statistics, geology, astrophysics, astronomy, electronics, botany, zoology, biochemistry, anthropology, microbiology, geophysics, geochemistry, atmospheric, sciences and oceanic sciences

Interested candidates who have the required cut-off marks and eligibility can apply online on the official INSPIRE website before 31 December 2020.
