The University of Delhi (DU) announced on Tuesday that it will offer a special examination opportunity for students who were unable to take their semester exams in May 2025 due to disruptions caused by Operation Sindoor.
In an official statement issued on July 1, Professor Gurpreet Singh Tuteja, the Controller of Examinations, indicated that undergraduate and postgraduate students affected during the 2024–25 academic year will have the chance to retake their missed exams. The original exam dates were May 13, 14, and 15.
“All concerned students are hereby informed that the deadline for submitting the Google Form for the special examinations is July 10, 2025 (Thursday), by 11:59 pm,” the university stated in its notification.
The university has made it clear that this provision is exclusively for students who could not attend their exams on the designated dates due to issues related to Operation Sindoor. Applicants are required to provide valid documentary evidence demonstrating their inability to reach Delhi.
Professor Tuteja emphasized that this initiative is designed to ensure that students are not academically disadvantaged due to unforeseen circumstances, while maintaining the integrity of the process through proper documentation.
This initiative is anticipated to assist numerous students whose academic timelines were affected. The new exam dates will be announced at a later time by the examination branch and will be applicable only to those applicants who have been verified.
