The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, or GATE 2026, will take place. Gate2026.iitg.ac.in, the test’s official website, has gone live. The aptitude test will be administered by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati the following year.
Candidates may apply for GATE 2026 without incurring a late fee until September 25. The application process will open on August 25.
Dates of importance for GATE 2026
- Registration opens on August 25th, Monday.
- The deadline for regular registration is Thursday, September 25.
- The deadline for the extended registration period (with a late charge) is Monday, October 6.
- Exam dates for GATE 2025: February 7, 8, 14, 15, 2026.
- Results announcement date: March 19, 2026.
GATE 2026: Qualifications
Applicants may take the GATE 2026 exam if they are enrolled in or have finished a degree program in engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, arts, or humanities from an accredited institution, or if they are in their third or later years of study.
Those with certification must confirm that the exams are recognized by MoE, AICTE, UGC, UPSC, and others as being comparable to BE, BTech, BArch, BPlanning, etc.
Candidates may also apply if they have completed or are enrolled in one of these qualifying degree programs abroad.
