The Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) is set to commence the Common Eligibility Test (CET) online. This year, approximately 13.48 lakh candidates are qualified to participate in the examination. The test will take place at 834 centres throughout the state.
The Haryana government has implemented several precautionary measures to ensure that the recruitment test is conducted in a transparent and fair manner. Consequently, schools in the state will be closed today.
Director General of Police Shatrujeet Kapur has issued essential directives to senior police officials in all districts, which include the enforcement of prohibitory orders under Section 163 (authority to issue orders in urgent cases of nuisance or anticipated danger) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023. This regulation will be enforced within a 500 metre radius of all examination centres.
Parking of vehicles will be prohibited within a 200 metre radius of the examination centres. Additionally, photocopy and printing shops located near the centres have been instructed to remain closed. Kapur has urged residents, candidates, and their guardians to assist the police and report any suspicious activities by calling the ‘112’ emergency helpline or contacting local police.
On Tuesday, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini held a review meeting regarding the CET examination. He encouraged the general public to refrain from unnecessary travel on July 26 and 27, the days designated for the CET examination, to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted traffic flow, thus facilitating hassle-free movement for candidates.
The Haryana CET examination will consist of 100 questions, totaling 100 marks. The duration of the exam will be 1 hour and 45 minutes. After the examination, HSSC will publish the provisional answer keys and invite objections from candidates.
