India Post has announced the opening of applications for the positions of Gramin Dak Sevak. Interested and eligible candidates may submit their applications online via the official India Post website at indiapost.gov.in. This recruitment initiative aims to fill the roles of Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Dak Sevaks.
The registration process began on January 30 and will conclude on February 14, 2026. The application submission period started on February 1 and ended on February 16, 2026. A correction window will be available from February 17 to February 18, 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must be aged between 18 and 40 years.
To qualify for the GDS positions, candidates must possess a Secondary School Examination (SSE) pass certificate for the 10th standard, with passing marks in Mathematics and English, issued by any recognized Board of School Education under the Government of India, State Governments, or Union Territories in India.
Selection Process
Candidates will be shortlisted for engagement based on a merit list generated by the system. This merit list will be compiled based on the marks obtained or the conversion of Grades/Points to marks in the Secondary School Examination of the 10th standard from recognized Boards, aggregated to a percentage with an accuracy of four decimal places.
The final selection of shortlisted candidates will depend on the physical verification of their original documents.
Application Fee
The application fee is set at ₹100/- for all candidates applying within their chosen Division. However, the fee is waived for all female candidates, SC/ST candidates, PwBD, and Transwomen applicants.
Candidates can utilize all recognized Credit/Debit cards and the Net Banking/UPI facility for payment. Applicable charges for the use of Debit/Credit cards and net banking will be imposed as per the prevailing rules.
