This time, the Joint Admission Board (JAB) had increased the number of attempts for the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced) from two to three. However, a few weeks after the announcement, JAB took back the decision and restored the earlier eligibility criterion used in previous years about several attempts in JEE Advanced.
“The Joint Admission Board (JAB) has decided to restore the earlier eligibility criterion used in previous years pertaining to number of attempts in JEE (Advanced), in supersession of the criterion mentioned in Press Release dated November 05, 2024. This has been done after considering various competing requirements in the meeting of JAB held on November 15, 2024. This has resulted in restoring the earlier eligibility criteria followed since 2013. All other eligibility criteria remain same,” the official notice stated.
The age limit is for candidates born on or after October 1, 2000. Five years of age relaxation is given to SC, ST, and PwD candidates, who should have been born on or after October 1, 1995. The other eligibility for JEE Advanced 2025 remains the same.
