The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has declared that the biannual and private examinations for Class 10 and 12 for the 2025 academic session will begin on September 8. This decision follows a modification in the date sheet prompted by recent adverse weather conditions and flood warnings in the area.
As per the revised timetable, the Class 12 examinations will take place in the morning session starting at 10 am, while the Class 10 examinations are set for the afternoon session commencing at 2 pm. The board has stressed that this rescheduling was essential to safeguard the well-being of both students and teachers, as numerous papers had to be deferred earlier due to unfavorable weather circumstances.
Revised Exam Schedule
The examination period will commence with Social Science on September 8, followed by English on September 10. Science is slated for September 13, and the Urdu and Hindi papers will occur on September 15.
Exams for optional languages are scheduled for September 17, with vocational subjects to be held on September 19. Home Science is planned for September 20, and Art and Drawing will take place on September 22.
Computer Science is arranged for September 24, and the concluding paper, Music, will be conducted on September 25. All Class 10 examinations will occur in the afternoon session, starting at 2 pm.
The JKBOSE has advised students to meticulously review the revised date sheet and make appropriate preparations, particularly in regions impacted by flooding. Authorities are collaborating with local administrations to ensure the smooth execution of examinations and safe transportation for candidates. For the most recent updates and the complete schedule, students are encouraged to consult the official JKBOSE announcement.
In the meantime, following an 11-day closure due to severe rainfall, flash floods, and landslides, the Directorate of School Education Jammu has issued a notice for all government and private schools in the region to prepare for reopening. Offline classes are anticipated to resume from September 10, contingent upon safety clearance.
In an official announcement, the Directorate has directed all Heads of Institutions (HOIs) and staff to resume their duties beginning September 8 (Monday). A compulsory security and safety audit of school facilities has been mandated to guarantee that the infrastructure is secure for students’ return.
This initiative follows the region’s recovery from significant weather-related disruptions that commenced on August 26, which resulted in extensive damage and necessitated the closure of schools. The administration is currently concentrating on reinstating normal operations while emphasizing the safety of students.
