The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board has announced the postponement of the JKSSB JE 2025 examination. The assessment for the Junior Engineer (Civil) position, which was originally set for September 7, 2025, has been delayed. Candidates are encouraged to review the official announcement on the JKSSB website at jkssb.nic.in.
The postponement is attributed to the current weather conditions. A new examination date will be communicated separately in due course.
According to the official notice, “It is hereby notified for the information of all concerned candidates that the OMR Based Examination for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil), advertised under Notification No. 03 of 2025 dated 24.04.2025, which was initially scheduled for 31.08.2025 and subsequently rescheduled to 07.09.2025, is hereby postponed due to prevailing weather conditions. The new date for the examination will be announced separately in due course. Candidates are advised to frequently check the official website of the Board for further updates.”
This is not the first instance of the exam being postponed. It was previously scheduled for August 31, 2025, but was delayed due to adverse weather conditions.
The examination will feature objective-type, multiple-choice questions, all presented in English. There will be negative marking for incorrect answers, with a deduction of 1/4th of the allotted marks for each wrong response.
This recruitment initiative aims to fill 508 Junior Engineer (Civil) positions within the Public Works (R&B) Department and the Jal Shakti Department in Jammu and Kashmir. For additional information, candidates can visit the official JKSSB website.
