Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) has postponed the SSLC examination 2021. The decision has been taken by the board due to the surge in the Covid-19 cases. KSEEB will release the new revised exam dates once the situation normalises.
Karnataka SSLC exams scheduled to be held from June 21 to July 5, 2021, were released on sslc.karnataka.gov.in. Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar said that “The increasing coronavirus cases in the state coupled with the concerns of parents, students, and many school associations has resulted in this decision“.
The Minister also said that the revised dates will be announced much ahead of schedule, as he appealed to the students not to get disheartened and continue with their preparations for the exams. Earlier, the government had postponed the second Pre University Exam (PUC) or Class 12 final exams and promoted first-year students. The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2021, which is held for Engineering admission, was also postponed.
Karnataka’s schools are currently observing summer vacation, which will continue till June 14. The new academic year would begin on June 15. However, high school teachers had been instructed to conduct revision classes for SSLC students. Summer vacation for high school teachers is till May 31.
